[ Features ] Product Features

PTFE bearing slide is made from high-strength PTFE suspension resin by methods of moulding, sintering and finalizing to various sizes. Different fillers can be compounded to meet special mechanical, thermal and chemical demands.

The slide can be adhered to rubber and metal with one side etched, making it ideal for bridge bearings, building expansion joints and vehicle suspension systems.

PTFE offers a very low coefficient of friction, is anticorrosive and non-aging, and can be widely used in temperatures from -180°C to +260°C.

FAQ

What is a PTFE bearing slide used for?

PTFE bearing slides are used as low-friction sliding elements in bridge bearings, building expansion joints, vehicle suspensions and industrial equipment. They allow structures to move under thermal expansion, seismic load or traffic load while maintaining low friction and long service life.

What is the temperature range of PTFE bearing slide?

Kaxite PTFE bearing slides operate from -180°C to +260°C. For continuous service above 260°C, filled grades or alternative materials such as PEEK are recommended.

Can PTFE bearing slide be bonded to rubber or metal?

Yes. We supply one-side etched PTFE bearing slides specifically designed for adhesive bonding to rubber pads, steel plates and other substrates. Etching improves the bond strength significantly compared to untreated PTFE.

What fillers are available for PTFE bearing slide?

Common fillers include carbon, glass fiber, bronze, graphite and molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂). The choice depends on load, speed, temperature and chemical environment. Our engineers can recommend the right grade for your application.

What is the coefficient of friction of PTFE bearing slide?

Virgin PTFE has a static coefficient of friction of approximately 0.04–0.10 against steel. Filled grades may show slightly higher values but offer improved wear resistance and compressive strength.

Can you produce custom sizes?

Yes. We produce round, square and custom-shaped PTFE bearing slides per client drawings. Standard round diameters range from Φ140 mm to Φ852 mm, and square sizes from 300×300 mm to 1000×1000 mm. Custom thickness from 3 mm to 50 mm.
